Kim Gordon’s post-Sonic Youth project with Bill Nace, Body/Head, has announced a new live album. Dubbed No Waves, it was recorded at the 2014 Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee just a few months after the band had released their debut full-length, Coming Apart.
No Waves consists of just three tracks, but has a nearly 40-minute run time. Though songs like the title track to their 2014 EP The Show Is Over or a blending of “Abstract” and “Actress” may be familiar to fans, the improvisational, experimental flow of the performance gives way to entirely new listening experiences. As a press release puts it, “Instead of presenting ‘tracks’ or ‘songs’ from the record, we present moments from this one pinnacle set that was luckily for us beautifully caught in time.”
With the live album set to drop November 11th via Matador, digital pre-orders are going on here; physical pre-orders are available through the Matador website. Find the album art and tracklisting below.
