Miniature Tigers fall into a synthpop reverie on new single “Dreaming” — listen

on October 04, 2016, 10:30am

How many thousands of times has some variation of the phrase “I’m dreaming of you” been uttered in the chorus of a pop song? We lost track a couple of decades ago, if we’re being honest. But whether you’re counting sheep or counting phrases, you’ve got to admit that there’s something appealingly different about Miniature Tigers’ new single “Dreaming”. The Brooklyn-based indie pop outfit really captures the sense of being lost in reverie, with Charlie Brand’s Weezer-lite vocals shifting back and forth atop the synth melody like a fitful sleeper. “I’ll see you when I close my eyes,” he exhales in a line that wraps wistfulness and serene joy up in a neat and tidy package. This song may have sprung from a well of loneliness, but it seems destined for a crowded dance floor in Bushwick.

Get lost in “Dreaming” below. The single appears on Miniature Tigers’ forthcoming album I Dreamt I Was A Cowboy, due out October 28th.
