Soundgarden unveil studio outtake of “Rusty Cage” — listen

on October 06, 2016, 2:55pm

Badmotorfinger, the third studio effort from Soundgarden, is turning 25 this year. To commemorate the occasion, the band will put out a deluxe reissue of the 1991 record on November 18th. The anniversary edition is expected to include bonus goodies in the form of B-sides, live recordings, and alternate mixes of original songs.

Although a tracklist has yet to be revealed, Chris Cornell & co. are teasing the collection today with a studio outtake of single “Rusty Cage”. This version doesn’t differ too much from the original, aside from a few more emphasized arrangements in the mix and certain changes in the vocals (Cornell goes down a couple notes in the first verse instead of up).

Earlier this year, Cornell’s supergroup Temple of the Dog also celebrated the 25th anniversary of their first and only full-length album.
