Prince’s Paisley Park will open its doors to the public this week as a museum celebrating the life and legacy of its former resident. In anticipation, The TODAY Show was given an exclusive sneak peek during this morning’s episode. In the below video, Al Roker previews some of the 12 exhibitions, including Prince’s recording studio, the Purple Rain room, and his personal concert venue. We also get a look at Prince’s paintings, custom-made outfits, and even handwritten lyrics that were left in the studio prior to his passing. Watch below.
Paisley Park will be open for tours beginning Thursday, with additional tours scheduled for Saturday and next Thursday. An official opening may be delayed until December, however, as the Chanhassen City Council still needs time to investigate how the museum will impact traffic and parking in the community. Until then, the museum has a “temporary permit” to be open on “certain days.”
