For over a year, we’ve hyped a black and white version of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. And it’s not just us, the filmmaker himself has proudly touted it’s how he truly envisioned the film, which seems odd given all the beautiful color rendering and effects, but who’s to argue with a genius?
Nevertheless, the Black & White Chrome edition is finally here to behold and, no, it’s not some fan edit this time. This is the real deal and Amazon currently has it streaming for your leisure at $6 a pop or $20 to own. Those who are more of a physical enthusiast will have to wait until the thing finally hits shelves on December 6th.
If you’re still not sold, they’ve even slapped together a PSA of sorts that shows you the difference between the original and the new cut and why it’s not just a matter of desaturating all the color. Watch that comparison above. Personally, I could still watch and enjoy this film with Vaseline rubbed all over my eyes or maybe even that silver spray paint that Nux uses before he enters Valhalla, so you know I’m down.
