This morning, Kanye West made his second public appearance since being released from a Los Angeles hospital last month. The rapper returned to the spotlight, newly bleached hair and all, to … meet with President-elect Donald Trump at his Trump Tower residence in New York City. Because 2016 is a goddamn circus that clearly just won’t quit.
Trump told the press that he and Kanye — both reportedly “friends for a long time” — spoke about “life.” According to new reports, however, their discussions ventured beyond bleached assholes and “sad” Saturday Night Live. E! News says that Kanye met with the businessman-turned-sort-of-politician “to discuss a potential role for the rapper,” something akin to “an ambassador for sorts.” Sources at E! News added, “Trump is interested in getting West involved in an ‘entrepreneurial leadership role.”
Update: According to Kanye, he spoke to Trump about multicultural issues, including “bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago.” He added, “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
As ludicrous as a Kanye-Trump partnership might seem, the rapper did throw his political support behind Trump just days before his hospitalization. Also, Trump recently picked this guy as his Energy Secretary and a retired neurosurgeon to head up the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Did I mention how much this year blows?
