FKA twigs hasn’t put out a collection of new music since her M3LL155X EP two years ago, however, she has been steadily churning out visual projects. In 2016 alone she shared Soundtrack 7, an “abstract autobiographical” film collecting all her original live performances at Manchester International Festival, and a documentary called Baltimore Dance Project.
Today, she’s released another piece of work for the screen, a two-minute video in collaboration with Nike, where she serves as Creative Director for NikeWomen’s Spring Zonal Strength Tights promotional campaign. What’s more, the self-directed clip — titled “do you believe in more?” — features a previously unreleased song called “Trust in Me”, which twigs says she’d written prior to being approached by the athletic brand. As FACT points out, the track includes contributions from electronic musician Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, as well as Motion Graphics.
Above, check out the Nike video. Below, watch twigs dance to an early version of the track.
