Sondre Lerche announces new album, shares “Soft Feelings” video featuring How to Dress Well — watch

on January 20, 2017, 11:15am

On April 14th, Sondre Lerche will issue an album titled Pleasure. It’s the follow-up to 2014’s Please and collects together 10 new tracks. Among them is “I’m Always Watching You”, a single which he reworked last month, and the freshly unveiled “Soft Feelings”.

The latest offering is a buoyant listen with an ’80s lean, and sees the Norwegian singer-songwriter pushing further into the world of synth-speckled arrangements. Its corresponding clip, also released today, features a cameo from Tom Krell, aka How To Dress Well, and captures a man in the midst of a breakdown. In a press statement, Lerche uses film references to describe the Johannes Greve Muskat-directed video:

“I liked the idea of a man on the verge of an identity crisis, alone in LA. A noir-portrait of the man and the city over the course of a lost weekend of isolation and ambivalence. If the previous video, ‘I’m Always Watching You’, was Rear Window, ‘Soft Feelings’ is Vertigo, with all its clues, symbolism and obsessiveness.”

Watch it down below.

Pleasure Tracklist:
01. Soft Feelings
02. I’m Always Watching You
03. Serenading In The Trenches
04. I Know Something That’s Gonna Break Your Heart
05. Siamese Twin
06. Bleeding Out Into The Blue
07. Reminisce
08. Hello Stranger
09. Violent Game
10. Baby Come To Me

Lerche will embark on a massive Norwegian tour this month, followed by dates in North America and the rest of Europe.
