The Flaming Lips drop new album Oczy Mlody: Stream/download

on January 12, 2017, 11:25pm

Today, The Flaming Lips return with Oczy Mlody, their 16th studio album and first full-length of original material since 2013’s The Terror. It’s now available to stream on all the usual platforms; subscribers of Apple Music and Spotify can listen below.

Though Oczy Mlody is the Lips’ first album in four years, it’s not as if the band was inactive in that downtime — in 2014, they released a strange tribute to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and in 2015 frontman Wayne Coyne teamed up with Miley Cyrus for her fifth studio album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.

In his review of the album, our own Philip Cosores highlights its appropriateness for the current political climate and calls it “a beautiful and somber reflection on our times.” Cyrus lends guest vocals to album closer “We A Family”, continuing a partnership that once seemed far-fetched even in the context of The Flaming Lips’ wild universe.

Update: The Flaming Lips have shared a new video for the track “Nidgy Nie (Never No)”. Check it out below.
