Most of the visuals for new album Starboy have found The Weeknd starring in his own flashy, Hollywood-type thrillers. There was the action-packed short film Mania, and the music video for “False Alarm”, which depicted a bank heist gone horribly wrong.
Abel Tesfaye’s new clip for “Party Monster” features some of the same blockbuster effects, only this time set in a surreal world filled with neon cars, glowing crosses, and pixelated faces. Lana Del Rey has a credit on the track, but unfortunately doesn’t appear here (though a woman with devilish red eyes does catch the R&B crooner’s attention).
Check out the BRTHR-directed video up above. The Weeknd was recently confirmed to headline Bonnaroo 2017.
