Beach Slang cover The Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Sometimes Always” — listen

When Beach Slang came together some four years ago in Philadelphia, they looked to The Replacements and The Jesus and Mary Chain for inspiration. The punk outfit has since paid tribute to the former, covering the Mats’ “Bastards of Young”, “Can’t Hardly Wait”, and even the entirety of Pleased to Meet Me

This week, as part of their upcoming covers mixtape, Here I Made This For You Volume II, Beach Slang has taken on The Jesus and Mary Chain’s Hope Sandoval-assisted single “Sometimes Always”. A fairly faithful update on the 1994 original, it coos as well as cuts in all the right spots. Stream it down below.

Here I Made This For You Volume II is due out February 10th through Polyvinyl Records.
