New photo of Angus and Stevie Young adds weight to AC/DC lineup speculation

on August 09, 2018, 12:27pm

Following news that classic members Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd have appeared to return to AC/DC‘s lineup, a new photo posted today adds weight to the story.

Yesterday, a photo surfaced of Johnson and Rudd standing outside the door of AC/DC’s studio in Vancouver, Canada. Johnson was forced to leave the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band in 2016 when it was revealed he was at risk of facing “total hearing loss,” and he was replaced by Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose. Rudd, meanwhile, had been out of the band since 2014, dealing with major legal issues in New Zealand.

Now, a new photo has emerged of lead guitarist Angus Young and his nephew, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young (who replaced Angus’ late brother Malcolm), taking a smoke break outside that very same studio. The picture was taken by a local Vancouver resident and provided to the website Ear of Newt.

Solely judging by the photos (seen in the tweets below), the current AC/DC lineup would be Brian Johnson (vocals), Angus Young (lead guitar), Stevie Young (rhythm guitar), and Phil Rudd (drums). The question of who’s playing bass remains, as longtime member Cliff Williams retired from the group following the end of their “Rock or Bust Tour” in September 2016.
