This Week on Consequence of Sound Radio

on September 24, 2019, 12:15am

It’s The Replacements week on Consequence of Sound Radio on TuneIn. In celebration of the beloved band’s new Dead Man’s Pop box set, we’re heading way to the left of the dial.

The hootenanny begins on Tuesday, September 24th at 12:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 a.m. PT with our CoS Radio’s debut “Inspired By” block. We’ll be spinning a deliciously curated block of 12 songs from bands that clearly owe some of their inspiration to The ‘Mats. Expect tracks from Green Day, The Gaslight Anthem, Against Me!, Beach Slang, The Hold Steady, and… The Goo Goo Dolls? Hey, even Lorde made it on here. Yeah, I just can’t wait either. (The playlist will re-air every other day all week, so make sure to check it out!)

It’s all leading up to the new episode of Relevant Content on Wednesday the 25th at 3:00 p.m. ET/ 12:00 p.m. PT. Editor-in-Chief Michael Roffman will sit down with a panel of expert guests to explore the legacy of Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson, and the boys, including how Dead Man’s Pop rewrites the group’s history in a fascinating new way.

Then, on Thursday the 26th at 3:00 p.m. ET/ 12:00 p.m. PT, host Lior Phillips returns with a new episode of This Must Be the Gig recorded at Norway’s Øya Festival. The inimitable interviewer will chat with Jamaican reggae star Protoje and Norwegian pop quartet Razika, highlighting the international appeal of Øya.
