Following the discovery of a new video tape allegedly showing the singer raping an underage girl, a grand jury has reportedly been convened in Illinois.
The “clear and explicit” video shows Kelly engaging in sexual activities with a girl believed to be 14 years old.
The Philadelphia City Council unanimously passed a bill to “mute” R Kelly in solidarity with the ongoing campaign to boycott the singer.
The FBI is looking into whether Kelly transported a minor across state lines for the purpose of sex.
The comments come only days after a controversial Instagram post.
One of Kelly’s accusers has since turned in evidence to Chicago authorities.
The news comes amidst mounting abuse allegations and Lifetime’s damning Surviving R. Kelly docu-series.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s current manager, Don Russell, is being investigated for similar threats.
The R&B singer previously stated he’s never seen the sketch.
Kelly, 27, and Aaliyah, 15, were secretly married in 1994.
In addition to a possible criminal investigation, the singer is facing civil litigation and has been shelved by his record label.
At least one prominent musician is sticking by Kelly amidst allegations of sexual abuse and imprisonment.
