The Importance of Music in Brain Surgery

on November 02, 2015, 4:30pm

In some brain surgery procedures, patients are kept awake so that doctors can monitor brain activity, sometimes even going as far to have them perform actual musical instruments. Dr. Frim discusses the basics of brain surgery and why such activities as performing instruments may be employed by doctors. He also reveals the effect music can have on the brain.
